2014 Stacking Up To Be An Exciting Race Season!

Next year is going to be a very exciting season as SCCA has decided to merge C Sport Racing (my old class) and D Sport Racing together into a new preeminent class called P1.  To be able to compete at the front end of this new class, I’ve decided to upgrade my race car to a newer and lighter carbon fiber Norma M20FC (see sample picture above) and, in addition, undertake an engine development program to increase the horsepower of my 2 liter Honda K20 power plant to about 300 hp.  If all this comes together as expected, I hope to successfully compete for the national championship in P1 at Laguna Seca next October.  This will be the first time the Runoffs have been to the West Coast in over 45 years.  I look at this opportunity as kind of a once in a lifetime chance to win this event since it’s on my home track and I’m the current track record holder in CSR.

I also plan to share with you more in-car video footage next year as I’m getting a new industrial strength camera system.  The GoPro cameras I’ve used in the past just can’t stand up to the punishing vibrations of my car at speed.  You’re welcome to come hang out at any of my scheduled race weekends.

See you at the track.
