Nostalgia & Starting to Wind Things Down a Notch

I haven’t posted in some time, however, I am still racing although on a more limited schedule. The speed is still there when I really push it, but it comes with the cost of neck pain after the weekend’s over…definitely getting older for sure now. We’ve put Norma back into her Runoff’s race winning spec from 2016 so she will run in ASR from now on, an SCCA Regional only class, so track time will be limited to West Coast venues. Next race weekend for Norma is at Laguna Seca in June. Also, we are going to do double duty this year in Monterey at the Rolex Prereunion and Reunion in August, running the Chevron B-36 and Oreca 03.

Back in 2016, a magical season for us, a fellow by the name of Trey Broaddus (who at the time was my company’s controller), came to me with an idea about making a documentary of our season long quest for Gold at the Runoffs. Trey had been editing some video highlights for me and was both an avid videographer/editor and a race fan. How could I say no to an offer like that! Trey spent countless hours developing the storyline and then shooting video and photographs along with Robert Carpenter, followed by lots of editing and adding a sound track with Trey himself doing the narration. I thought the finished product turned out quite nice and it stirs deep emotions in me every time I watch it. It has never been widely available for viewing except to those closest to me. But, since nostalgia is starting to creep into my psyche more, I felt now was the time to share it. Click on the picture below to see “Hooked for Life.” Hope you enjoy it.
